The All Seeing Hand at Mighty Mighty. Killer.

My first ever unsupervised house party was in Form 3 (dunno what that equates to nowadays so I guess it shows my age) I turned up with a few friends (after being dropped off around the corner by one of our parents) and they were playing Beastie Boys, ever since then I’ve had a fond spot for the trio. Although they haven’t been classed as one of my favourite bands (which, in all honesty, seem to burn bright but shortly with my attention span) they have certainly been my longest band loves. So hearing the other day that Adam Yauch (MCA) has lost his battle with Cancer was pretty shit. Their albums are crazy, rarely staying within one genre (doing that shit before it became cool or commercially viable) and just doing what ever they wanted, despite the people they may (or may not) alienate. This is extremely evident in the greatest live DVD I have ever seen: ‘Awesome, I fucking shot that’. What ever I am to say about this would not do the actual show/gig/concept justice. Directed by Adam Yauch (as Nathaniel Hornblower) you just have to watch it. If you live in Wellington, New Zealand and wanna see it get in touch and you can borrow my copy. Here are some shots I took of MCA from the 2005 Big Day Out. Please re-post or like if you like the Beastie Boys…
